A 52-year-old female RCMP staff sergeant in Ottawa filed a lawsuit against 13 members of the RCMP and is seeking millions of dollars in damages. The woman alleges that these colleagues of sexual assault that occurred in the 1980s when she was working as a constable. The woman's statement of claim says that she was working for the RCMP Musical Ride, and it was during the course of her employment there that she was the victim of a hazing ritual. Ontario residents face drug charges

Four Ontario residents have been arrested after a routine traffic stop. The four individuals are now facing serious drug charges. An Iroquois Falls Ontario Provincial Police officer stopped a Ford Expedition on Synagogue Street. The stop was allegedly due to an equipment violation. The Ontario Provincial Police officer spoke with the four occupants who were inside the Expedition and then commenced a search of the vehicle based on his observations. While police have already filed charges associated with the death of a Hamilton man who took two men on a test drive and did not return, a second suspect is now being implicated for the man's death. A 25-year-old from Oakville is now facing murder charges in the first degree. According to police, the man is one of the two men that the Hamilton father took for a test drive. Niagara Falls residents arrested in national drug investigation

Fifteen individuals from Ontario and other parts of Canada have been charged with a variety of charges after officers conducted an investigation for three years. The charges stem from an investigation of marijuana grow ops. In 2009, 17 Canadian and American citizens were charged in relation to similar activities that initiated the investigation. Those individuals faced a variety of charges, including the production of marijuana, distribution of marijuana, exporting ecstasy and exporting methamphetamine. According to police, the investigation revealed that an organization of suspected criminals had been responsible for maintaining 27 Ontario marijuana grow operations and another two in British Columbia. Alleged fugitive sex offender returned to Ontario by RCMP

Langley RCMP have reportedly returned a suspected sexual offender to Ontario. The 27-year-old man, who was arrested by local Mounties on May 3, is wanted for alleged sexual assault. The Mounties had learned that the suspect was living in the area in February. In March, they took the steps necessary to initiate the process of removing him from the area using the British Columbia Fugitive Return Program, which receives funds through the province's Civil Forfeiture Office. Drug seizure occurs after Ontario traffic stop

Ontario Provincial Police arrested two individuals after a routine traffic stop on May 9 in McCool Township near Matheson. The two Quebec residents are now facing drug charges in relation to the incident. The driver of a 2004 Jeep TJ SUV was stopped by Ontario Provincial Police after they reportedly clocked him at 134 km/h in a 80 km/h speed zone in McCool Township on Highway 101. Woman faces jail after wild ride

A Toronto woman faces a six-month jail sentence after taking her friend's four-year-old daughter without permission and going on a wild car ride. While driving under the influence, the woman caused two accidents. An Ontario Superior Court justice issued a statement expressing his desire for the court to send a clear message that those who drive while intoxicated must be dealt with harshly. Oakville men face drug charges

Three Oakville residents are facing charges related to items found during the execution of a search warrant at both a Marlborough Court apartment complex and a Burlington storage facility. The drug charges include possession of controlled substances, trafficking and probation violations. The search warrant was executed at the end of a three-week investigation carried out by the Halton Police District's Strategic Support Group. Police seized cocaine, hashish and money in a series of drug raids in the greater Toronto area. Five people were taken into custody, all from ages 18 to 30. All five were charged with possession for the purposes of trafficking cocaine. The police also provided pictures of some of the seized material. One raid targeted a Legion Rd. Toronto man charged with 5 counts of sexual assault

Police in Toronto charged a man with five counts of sexual assault in the span of just a quarter of an hour. According to reports, the first incident of sexual assault was called in at 1 p.m., and the man in question was taken into custody by officers at around 1:15 p.m. Several women reported the incident, and the man was also charged with breach of recognizance-peace bond.
