One charge of assault withdrawn, no peace bond, following a pretrial call between Mr. Whitfield and the assigned Crown. The client, who was new to Canada and who knew only basic English, had been charged following an argument with his partner. The partner had opposed the arrest. During discussions with Mr. Whitfield, the Crown acknowledged the accused\u2019s vulnerability and accepted Mr. Whitfield position the accused was clearly not an aggressor.
