Charge of Domestic Assault, Assault Causing Bodily Harm, Assault with a Weapon and Threaten Death withdrawn after extensive discussions with the Crown assigned to the file.\u00a0 Z.Z. and his wife were having martial issues.\u00a0 They married very young and were starting out on their careers.\u00a0 Over the pandemic, their relationship became strained and in 2024 the relationship became much more challenging.\u00a0 An argument erupted after Z.Z. made comments about the state of their marriage and the argument escalated to a struggle with a considerable level of violence.\u00a0 Both parties sustained injuries.\u00a0 The complainant called 911 and Z.Z. was charged with multiple domestic abuse allegations.\u00a0 Z.Z. was very regretful for his conduct and how their argument got out of control.\u00a0 Joseph Neuberger and Grace Condello defended Z.Z.\u00a0 He was sent to a very experienced therapist for assessment and counselling.\u00a0 Z.Z. completed over 22 hours of assessment and counselling and then with the assistance of the Crown, the bail was varied to allow the parties to have martial counseling.\u00a0 The complainant also retained counsel who communicated her desire to reconcile.\u00a0 Z.Z. also completed community service and a reflection paper on the harms of intimate partner violence.\u00a0 Z.Z. and his wife completed 10 hours of joint martial counseling.\u00a0 The Crown assigned took a very restorative approach as Z.Z. took responsibility for his actions and made excellent progress in counseling.\u00a0 A package was provided to the Crown that also included background information, confirmation of employment and the impact of a finding of guilt and an immigration opinion was obtained also in relation to the impact of a finding of guilt and possible jail.\u00a0 In the end, all charges of assault, assault with a weapon, assault bodily harm and threatening were withdrawn, and the client signed a common law peace bond with appropriate terms.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"template":"","success_category":[118,119],"class_list":["post-30045","success_story","type-success_story","status-publish","hentry","success_category-all-success-stories","success_category-sexual-assault-domestic-assault-and-other-violent-crimes"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/nrlawyers.com\/6ixDev-v2\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/success_story\/30045","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/nrlawyers.com\/6ixDev-v2\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/success_story"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/nrlawyers.com\/6ixDev-v2\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/success_story"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/nrlawyers.com\/6ixDev-v2\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=30045"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"success_category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/nrlawyers.com\/6ixDev-v2\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/success_category?post=30045"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
