With over 30 years’ experience in the legal profession, Michael has been a strong advocate for the wrongfully accused in complex criminal law cases. He received his Bachelor of Arts in English and Criminology from the University of Toronto, his Law degree from Western University, and his Master of Laws from Osgoode Hall Law School. He began his legal career as an articling student for Alan D. Gold and now Madame Justice Fuerst.
After completing his articles, he opened his own firm where he honed his skills as a criminal defence lawyer appearing before all levels of court, including trials and appeals. Michael has extensive trial and appellate experience in the areas of sexual and domestic assault cases, child pornography, internet luring, fraud, and drug-related offences.
More recently, Michael was invited to become a partner at Neuberger & Partners LLP by his long-time friend, Joseph Neuberger, and to combine their experience and analytical skills developing creative defences for clients.
Michael’s practice focuses on sexual assault matters, domestic assault, child pornography and professional disciplinary hearings.
