First Offence Conviction Consequences

• A minimum fine of $600.00
• A minimum one-year driving prohibition period
• Possible period of probation

Second Offence Conviction Consequences

• A minimum jail sentence of 14 days
• A minimum two-year driving prohibition period (a minimum of three-year suspension if the prior conviction was within the past 10-year period)
• Possible period of probation

Third Offence Conviction Consequences

• A minimum jail sentence of 90 days
• A minimum three-year driving prohibition period to a maximum of a life-time suspension
• Possible period of probation

Fourth Offence or More Conviction Consequences

• A jail sentence in excess of 90 days
• Permanent suspension in the Province of Ontario
• Possible period of probation
