In the small town of Red Rock, Ontario, three teenagers have been arrested on drug charges. Most people in Toronto remember making mistakes when they were younger. Hopefully, those mistakes were forgiven and didn’t do too much damage to an individual’s future. For teens charged with marijuana possession, however, this small mistake could have serious and long-lasting consequences. For teens who are unable to clear their names, a drug conviction could cost them a spot at university, a job or even a place to live.

The three boys are currently facing charges of possession of marijuana under 30 grams. One of the teens is also charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking, trafficking and breach of probation. He is currently awaiting a bail hearing and is being held in a Thunder Bay detention center.

Police claim that the young man facing the additional charges was outside of the Nipigon-Red Rock District High School when police thought they saw him selling drugs. It is not entirely clear what it is that police saw, but that will likely come out at the young man’s trial. It is also unknown how the other teenagers were connected to this young man or what evidence police found on them.

Unfortunately for these boys, their future could be seriously affected by the outcome of their trials. If the charges are lowered, they may be able to serve a light sentence, learn from their mistakes and move on with their lives. If they are convicted, however, they will have to deal with some potentially serious consequences for a momentary lapse in judgment.
